For those students who have decided to explore a career in the law through the study of law at a university, the Foundation has developed two main programs which encourage involvement of university students in the community sector, and give students the opportunity to gain a greater understanding of the broader legal sector.
Legal Sector Internship Program
The Legal Sector Internship Program plays an important role in providing law students with the opportunity to gain experience working within a legal sector organisation. The program offers internships at over twenty legal sector organisations each year, including the Victorian Law Reform Commission, Liberty Victoria and Department of Justice. For more information, see: Legal Sector Internship Program
Chief Justice's Medal for Excellence and Community Service
The Chief Justice's Medal for Excellence and Community Service is awarded to one Victorian graduating law student who has demonstrated academic excellence in their legal studies and a commitment to community service. Each university nominates one student for the consideration of a selection panel. See: CJ's Medal. |
