Finding information about the law that is easy to understand can be difficult. The Foundation aims to demystify the law through programs that bring key legal information to the community.

Law Week

Law Week is a program of events designed to educate, inspire and engage the community. With many other complementary events occurring throughout the period, Law Week generally extends throughout the entire month of May. The Foundation coordinates Law Week with assistance from the Law Institute of Victoria. While most Law Week events are held in Melbourne’s legal precinct, activities are also held in regional areas. Law Talks

Operating since 2006, Law Talks is an outreach program offering regional and rural communities access to the same kinds of legal information, programs and resources that are available in metropolitan areas.

The program consists of a two-day school program aimed at VCE students. Various agencies participate in the Law Talks programs, including the Department of Justice, Legal Services Commissioner, the Banking and Financial Services Ombudsman, the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman, Consumer Affairs Victoria and, among others, the Office of the Public Advocate.  See: Law Talks
