Better Information Workshop: Communicating using video

Better Information workshops, by Victoria Law Foundation, are designed to improve the quality of legal information available in Victoria.

Communicating using video

We live in a media rich world where audio-visual media are a common means of sharing information. Despite the quantity of audio-visual material we consume, very few of us know how to communicate effectively using it.

In this workshop, award-winning filmmaker Catherine Gough-Brady will help you understand how to communicate audio-visually in your self-made videos, and how to communicate with professional audio-visual production teams you may hire. Rather than focus on the technology, Catherine will change the way you look and listen so that you can better communicate audio-visually.

Please bring your smartphone and earpods/earphones to the workshop.

Catherine Gough-Brady is an award-winning producer and director of six ABC TV documentary series, include Legal Briefs (2016) and Ethics Matters(2017), and she has also created 11 radio features for ABC Radio National. Catherine has also created films for a number of different legal organisations in Australia.

Please note: Due to the popularity of these workshops, priority will be given to people involved in the production of community legal information and foundation grant recipients.
