A pilot health justice partnership between St Kilda Legal Service and Victorian AIDS Council to assist LGBTIQ people with appropriate legal services. Being run by St Kilda Legal Cooperative, this project aims to help address the lack of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, Intersex and Queer (LGBTIQ)-specific legal services in Victoria. Such services are rare despite the LGBTIQ community being disproportionately affected by vulnerabilities that increase the likelihood of requiring legal assistance such as mental health issues, misuse of alcohol and other drugs and homelessness. This project aims to help address this access gap.
