The Office of the Public Advocate will provide information to culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities on powers of attorney through a series of Law Week events.
Information session for CALD communities
An information session will be offered early in Law Week, providing information about making an enduring power of attorney. The information will be culturally sensitive, with interpreters and bilingual educators involved. The session will be held at Melbourne’s Multicultural Hub.
A follow-up clinic at the Office of the Public Advocate will be offered to community members who attended the information session to seek advice, complete powers of attorney forms and have them witnessed.
Powers of attorney open day
An open day at Office of the Public Advocate will be held for CALD community leaders and multicultural workers. This session aims to provide greater awareness of the role of the Office of the Public Advocate, and a better understanding of powers of attorney for community leaders and community organisations working with CALD groups.
