This grant was used to fund La Trobe Law School’s research into the current legal issues and experiences of Indigenous youth in three rural towns, focusing on their experiences of policing and experiences within the justice system.

This project provided data on the levels of contact and overrepresentation in the justice system for Indigenous youth in three rural towns in north-west Victoria, and, through interviews, ascertained any causes behind offending behaviour.
