Victoria Law Foundation and the Supreme Court of Victoria are looking for the best examples in legal journalism published or broadcast this year.
Opening for entries today, journalists, photographers, illustrators, and their employers are called on to nominate their works covering issues of law relating to Victoria.
Now in their seventeenth year, the annual Legal Reporting Awards are run by Victoria Law Foundation, whose mission is to help Victorians better understand the law.
'We are looking for reporting that is accurate and balanced – and most of all that makes complex legal issues easy to understand for Victorians', said Ms Joh Kirby, Victoria Law Foundation Executive Director.
No other awards recognise the important role that the media play in helping Victorians to understand their legal system.
The 2014 awards will be offered in 14 categories for work published or broadcast in 2013.
Entries for the awards close at 5 pm, Friday 7 February 2014.
Winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Supreme Court on 1 April 2014.
