The Board of the Victoria Law Foundation is pleased to announce that Dr Rebekah Farrell has been appointed as the next Executive Director. She succeeds Lynne Haultain who steps down at the end of June after nine years in the role.

Dr Farrell is currently Head of Policy and Strategy at the Australian Pro Bono Centre, having previously led Legal Policy at the Law Institute of Victoria. She also brings extensive socio-legal research experience, having served as the Managing Director of the Centre for Business and Human Rights at RMIT.

She has a PhD from RMIT University and a first-class honours degree in Law from Monash University.

‘Dr Farrell’s blend of skills and experience make her an outstanding choice to lead the VLF into its next phase. We are confident she will further develop the research capability of the Foundation, as well as continuing our fine work in Education and Grants, supporting better justice for all Victorians’, said Chair of the VLF Board, the Honourable Justice Greg Garde AO RFD.

‘We also take this opportunity to thank Lynne Haultain for her service and wish her well in her future endeavours.’

Dr Farrell will take up the role in early July 2026.
